On the weekend of June 29, 2024, Moulin de Colagne opened its doors to over 200 guests to celebrate its centenary. This landmark event highlighted a century of milling tradition and innovation in the heart of the Lozère region.
Since 1917, the mill has perpetuated ancestral know-how while adapting to technological developments and the needs of artisan bakers. To mark this special occasion, the Mill has organized a festive day, rich in emotion, sharing and discovery.
A festive and convivial day
The centenary of Moulin de Colagne brought together loyal customers, suppliers, friends, long-standing partners and local representatives. Guided tours were organized throughout the day. Guests were able to discover the mill, our know-how, our history, the millstones and taste products made from our flours. All while sharing a convivial moment.
Mill tour and millstone staking
During the day, we organized guided tours enabling participants to go behind the scenes at Moulin de Colagne. Visitors were able to learn more about our traditional milling processes. From grain reception to milling on a flint millstone and Soder system, not forgetting storage and order preparation. This immersion gave visitors a better understanding of the quality and care that goes into our products. It also revealed the complexity of the flour-making process.
Our expert millers shared their know-how with visitors through a demonstration of millstone pitting, a crucial stage in the milling process. These events were an opportunity for guests to ask questions and talk with passionate professionals. They discovered the technical and artisanal aspects of our trade.
Last but not least, our cereal suppliers were on hand to share their expertise and help you learn more about where our wheat comes from. Guests were also able to visit the Gévaudan Authentique tourist office to find out more about our beautiful department.
Sharing and conviviality
This day of celebration was a valuable opportunity to strengthen ties with our partners, suppliers and customers. Guests had the opportunity to meet our team, with whom they are in regular contact throughout the year. The direct exchanges with our team were particularly appreciated, humanizing relations and reinforcing mutual trust.
