Description

Meule bio blés anciens “rouge de bordeaux” flour is a treasure resulting from a blend of organic milling wheats grown with passion.

Why “Rouge de Bordeaux” ?
Its name ‘red wheat’ comes from the reddish tinge of its husks (the husk that surrounds the grain), reminiscent of the colour of Bordeaux red wine. The flour remains white.

Old Bordeaux Red wheat has a number of advantages: firstly, it is particularly rich in beta-carotenes, which makes it an excellent source of nutrition. Secondly, the resulting flour has a more easily digestible gluten than conventional wheat flour, making it easier to tolerate. Because it is stone-ground, this flour contains the wheat germ, giving it richer flavour and greater nutritional value.

  • Rich in beta-carotenes
  • New flavors
  • Pains Rustiques: Ideal for creating breads rich in flavor, reflecting the diversity of ancient wheat varieties
