Preparation
- Mix honey and water until smooth.
- Add the organic gingerbread mix and flour, and mix until smooth.
- Roll out the dough on a floured work surface, to a thickness of around 1 cm.
- Place the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Remove the dough from the fridge and roll out to a thickness of around 5 mm.
- Cut out the dough with a cookie cutter in the desired shape (Christmas tree, star, etc.).
- Arrange the shapes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C / 200°C for 12 to 15 minutes.
- Let the gingerbread men cool completely before decorating with icing.
Tips & tricks
For even more delicious gingerbread men, you can add walnuts, raisins or candied fruit to the dough. For more complex shapes, you can use cookie cutters.
For a glossy glaze, use powdered sugar and lemon juice. For a dull glaze, use powdered sugar and water.
